Faults, causes and remedies

When the pump is left unused for a long period of time or in winter, the water can be dis-
charged.
•
To prevent the drain plug from falling into the outer housing, hold it by hand during the
next step.
•
Unscrew the drain plug with a screwdriver
•
Remove the drain plug completely.
•
Check the seal of the drain plug. Replace it with a new one if it is damaged.
•
Keep the drain plug thoroughly and easy to reach for the later re-assembly.
•
Allow the water to flow out of the outlet opening.
•
If no more water flows out, carefully reinsert the plug and screw it in completely using the
screwdriver. Do not use too much force to avoid damaging the seal.
DANGER
Danger because of bacterial infection!
There can be bacteria and hazardous germs in stagnant water. Follow the
points listed below:
• Make sure that there is sufficient air change.
• Wear a respiratory mask, e.g., Half mask 3M series 6000 with filter
6055 A2.
• After removal, disinfect the pump.
•
Wear protective equipment.
•
Clean the pump thoroughly.
•
Wear protective equipment.
•
Only carry out maintenance as described.
•
Use a clean, dry and well-lit place to work.
•
Use only original manufacturer parts.
•
Immediately clean up leaked liquids (fluid, operating fluid).
•
Dispose of the operating fluid at a certified collection point.
WARNING
Risk of electric shock
Danger from electrical current must be removed.
Before doing any work on the electric system: Make sure that the pump's
power supply is switched off and secured against non-approved reactiv-
ation.
WARNING
Risk of burns
In case of high water temperatures and high system pressures, close the
shut-off valves upstream and downstream of the pump. First, let the
pump cool down.
