Shut-down

Installation and operating instructions • Wilo-PW BOOST OPTI • Ed.01/2024-06
The pump must be operated with tap water.
Before installing the pump, fill tap water through the pump outlet.
Mount the discharge pipe.
Open 1 tap on the discharge side.
Make sure the mains power is available.
Plug in the pump's plug and the water will come out after a few minutes
If the water does not flow, it may be that the amount of water in the pump is insuffi-
cient.
Stop the pump and pull the plug. Make sure, the pump cannot be started while work-
ing.
Dismantle the discharge pipe
Fill up the water again.
Re-mount the discharge pipe.
During normal water supply, turn off the tap. That allows the pump to work in manual mode
to verify that the pipes are not leaking.
NOTICE
Fully open taps use less power and lower the electricity bill.
When the pump is used at an altitude higher than 1000 m, the pump will
operate at reduced power.
When shutting down the pump, the following requirements must be observed:
Protect the pump from frost and ice:
Min. ambient temperature: -10 °C
Min. fluid temperature: -10 °C
Do a test run once a month. The test run prevents incrustation and clogging of the
pump.
CAUTION! If it is not possible to meet these requirements, it is advisable to remove the
pump after shutting it down.
1.
Close the shut-off valve in the inlet pipe and discharge line.
2.
Switch off the pump (e.g., pull the plug, switch off the main switch).
Shutdown completed.
If using the pump in winter in areas where the ambient temperature is expected to drop be-
low freezing, consider the following: Pumps and pipes are prone to freezing, causing dam-
age to pipes, deformation or breakage of pumps, and therefore sucking no water, so cold-
proof measures should be taken. Horizontal pipework should be buried at a depth of over
30  cm underground. Note: Do not cover the top of the motor or pump with flammable ma-
terials to prevent freezing, in order to prevent fire accidents. In winter, drain the water or
provide heat when the pump is not in operation.
