During both edging and scalping, hold the unit a steep angle and in a
position where the debris, and any dislodging dirt and stones, will not
come back towards you even if it ricochets off the hard surface. Although
the picture shows how to edge and scalp every operator must find for
himself the angles which suits his body size and cutting situation.
WARNING / DANGER

protective safety protecting.Do not cut where you cannot see what the

SPOOL REPLACEMENT
Please use direct 1.6 nylon thread, with a maximum diameter of 2.0 for
nylon thread. Use the manufacturer's replacement parts for best
performance.
1. Release the trigger and allow the trimmer to coast to a stop and unplug
the trimmer, hold the string head and unscrew the spool retaining cap
(turn clockwise).
2. Remove the empty spool from the string head. Use the spring from the
empty spool if the one is not provided with the new spool.
3. To install the new spool, make sure the two strings are captured in the
slots opposite each other on the new spool. Make sure the ends of each
string are extended approximately 6 in. (152 mm) beyond each slot.
4. Thread the strings into the eyelets in the string head. Carefully push
the spool into the string head (gently pull the strings to the outside if
necessary). When the spool is positioned in the string head, grasp the
strings and pull sharply to release them from the slots in the spool.
5. Push down and turn the spool counterclockwise until it no linger turns.
Hold the spool down and rotate clockwise a small amount. Release the
spool. The spool should be locked down in the string head. If not, hold
down and rotate until locked.
