• It is necessary to connect the protective devices with the UPS when the UPS is
connected to power sources and critical loads.
• The protective devices connected to the UPS must be installed near the UPS and
easily accessible for operation.
• Protective Devices:
1. For single input, you must install (1) a protective device between the main AC
source and the UPS and (2) a protective device between the connected critical
loads and the UPS.
2. For dual input, you must install (1) a protective device between the main AC
source and the UPS, (2) a protective device between the bypass source and
the UPS and (3) a protective device between the connected critical loads and
the UPS.

4. The recommended electrical rating of the input, output and backfeed
protective devices are as follows. Application of the protective devices shall be
in accordance with local installation codes.
For configurations of the external maintenance bypass cabinet,
please refer to the following.

For single input, you must install an input breaker, a manual
bypass breaker and an output breaker.
b.
For dual input, you must install an input breaker, a bypass
breaker, a manual bypass breaker and an output breaker.

Each breaker mentioned above must meet the
specifications defined in

Each breaker mentioned above should be configured with an
auxiliary switch. The auxiliary switch must have a normally
open (NO) contact and a normally closed (NC) contact
connected to the UPS system cabinet's dry contacts to detect
each breaker's ON/ OFF status. Please refer to
Breaker Status Dry Contacts .

Install the external maintenance bypass cabinet next to the
UPS or align it with the UPS for convenient operation.
