4 5 Medical requirements and indication

The operator must be physically and mentally able to operate the product
The MAX-E transport device replaces the physical generation of force by the patient on a manual wheel-
chair. The use of the transport device is intended for patients who own a manual wheelchair but do no
longer have sufficient physical endurance and strength to move by themselves.
The optional control unit is used when the wheelchair user does no longer have the motor ability to move
the wheelchair by himself/herself by operating the joystick control, and the strength of the accompanying
person is not enough to steer and/or push and brake a person sitting in the wheelchair.

4 6 Contraindications and restrictions

The travel drives must not be used if:
the operator has obtained no training/instruction for the product!
the operator is not physically and mentally able to operate the travel drive safely!
more than one person shall be transported simultaneously!
the operator does not have adequate eyesight!
the braking effect is lost due to rain, wet conditions, snow or black ice!
the braking effect of the travel drive does not set in!
escalators or travelators shall be overcome!
medical devices with e.g. a life support function, and diagnostic devices are in the proximity!
it is not used according to the intended use!
objects shall be transported!

4 7 User group

The travel drives are intended for their use by patients and lay operators
Users are trained in the use of the device by means of a training course
