Connect the 402 -2 Test Set to
J 1 of the Terminal Unit and
place the character select
switch to 3.
On the display,
enter the characters Y and ~
in the first and second character
slots of the first line and depress
the XMIT key.
Observe that the
test set lamp readout indicates

Ente r X and

first line, and depress the
XMIT key.
Observe that the
test set lamp readout indicates

Corrective Action
If the readout indication is
incorrect, replace A 12.
If the readout indication is
correct, perform check b.

incorrect, replace A 12.

replace A 12 board.
