3. Mounting and adjustment of separator
unit

Mount the separator pulley assembly on the separator bracket
while keeping a clearance of 0.1mm between the collar 4 and the
bearing as shown below.
Secure the 0.1mm clearance by using a spacer of 0.1mm thick
and clamping the collar 4 with a hex. socket head screw.

Assembly of the separator unit
•
Set the separator unit after adjusting it to the right or left so that
a clearance of at least 0.2mm is secured between the feed
roller and the separator belt.

Adjustment of the transfer force of the separator unit
•
Obtain transfer force of 850±150gf by adjusting with two hex.
socket head screws in the separator unit.
<Adjustment procedure>
1. Remove the gate spring (located beside the gate solenoid) and
keep the gate lowered.
2. Adjust the half roller so that the test chart does not come into
contact with the half roller.
3. Adjust the screw to make the dimension A (at two places) in the
figure 6.3±0.2mm (reference value).
4. Adjust the screw so that the transfer force is 850±150gf while
measuring with a tension gauge. Errors of the dimension A in the
following figure on the front and rear sides should be within
0.5mm (@).
(Note) When adjusting the transfer force, do not allow contact
between the separation holder rubber and the paper feed
roller.
5. After adjustment, lock the two hex. socket head screws with Three
Bond.

4. Dismounting the half roller and the feed
roller
a. Remove the document tray and the transfer cover.
b. Open the document feed cover.
c. Remove the motor bracket clamp screws ( 4pcs.) and the earth
cable.
d. Remove the spring, connector and cable band, to dismount the
motor unit.
