6.1 Procedure to check and adjust clutch engagement
force
1. Disconnect clutch cylinder by removing the locking pin (see 1, figure
1).
2. Make sure cylinder engagement lever is placed with hex portion facing
outward. If facing inwards, change side (see 2, figure 1).
3. Using a torque wrench and a 1 7/16" socket, check the clutch
engagement force. See the chart below to find the torque applied as
per model. If engagement force is not respected, follow the next steps
to adjust (see 2, figure 1).
4. Remove the clutch cover by unscrewing the
2 bolts (See figure 2).
5. Inspect the inner components for rust or
damage, clean and lubricate accordingly.
6. If the clutch is still engaged, disengaged it.
Turn the shaft until the locking pin is
accessible. (see 1, figure 3) Push the locking
pin, turn adjustment yoke one notch clockwise (see 2, figure 3)
and check clutch engagement force (see 2, figure 1), repeat
this until the engagement force is reached.
7. Reinstall cover, apply sealant between cover and clutch (see
figure 2).
8. Check the clutch cylinder position. See the chart below to find
the distance between the lever hole and the cylinder (center to
center), when the clutch is engaged (see figure 4). Once the
cylinder support is in the correct place, connect clutch cylinder
(see 1, figure 1).
9. Check programming, see programming section.
