12. Troubleshooting

Malfunction
Sensor-switched light without
power
Sensor-switched light will not
switch ON
Sensor-switched light will not
switch OFF
Sensor-switched light switch-
ing ON when it should not

Cause
n Fuse has tripped,
not switched ON,
break in wiring
n Short circuit
n Twilight setting set to night-time
mode during daytime operation
n Bulb faulty
n Mains power switch OFF
n Fuse has tripped
n Detection zone not properly
targeted
n Internal electrical fuse has been
activated (LED on all the time)
n Continuous movement in the
detection zone
n Wind is moving trees and
bushes in the detection zone
n Cars in the street are being
detected
n Sunlight is shining on the lens
n Sudden temperature changes
due to weather (wind, rain,
snow) or air expelled from fans,
open windows
n Differing ambient temperatures n Use shrouds to define sen-
n Internal fuse activated
n Lamp cannot be dimmed

Remedy
n Activate, change fuse, turn ON
power switch,
check wiring with voltage tester
n Check connections
n Adjust setting
n Change bulb
n Switch ON
n Activate, change fuse, check
connection if necessary
n Readjust
n Switch sensor-switched light
OFF and back ON again after
5 sec
n Check detection zone and
readjust if necessary
n Change detection zone
n Change detection zone
n Mount sensor in a sheltered
place or change detection zone
n Change detection zone, mount
in a different place
