This section contains important information on how to configure your monitor
and how to use Matrox PowerDesk.

Monitor setup

To take full advantage of your display board, make sure that you have applied the
correct monitor settings for each one of your monitors:
1. Right-click on your Windows desktop background, and then select Properties,
and then Settings.
2. If you are using a multi-display desktop, select a monitor before clicking the
Advanced button. Then, select the Monitor property page.
3. Enable the checkbox Hide modes that this monitor cannot display. Then, using
the drop-down menu, select the highest refresh rate available.

If incorrect software monitor settings are applied, some monitors can be
permanently damaged. For more information, see your monitor's manual.

Accessing Matrox PowerDesk

Many display controls are built into Matrox PowerDesk. There are two ways to
access the PowerDesk main screen:
• Double-click on the PowerDesk icon in your Windows taskbar
PowerDesk icon in Windows XP, you might need to click on the Show hidden
icons button in your Windows taskbar
• Right-click on the Windows desktop and select Properties. The Display
Properties dialog box is presented. Select the Settings property page, and click on
the Advanced button. Select the Matrox PowerDesk-HF property page. Click on
the PowerDesk-HF button.
