Note that for Matrox Odyssey XG, the slot must be a 3.3 V slot; it cannot be a
5 V slot.

Some computers have a large, black-ridged heat sink that prevents long boards
from using some of the PCI board slots. Matrox Odyssey XG must not touch the
heat sink. Therefore, choose a slot where the board completely avoids it. If you
cannot find a suitable slot, contact your computer dealer.
4. If there is a metal plate at the back of the selected slots, remove it. Keep the screw
from the top of the plate to anchor your boards once they are installed.
5. Position your Matrox Odyssey XG board in the selected slot, and then press the
board firmly but carefully into the connector of the slot.
When installing Matrox Odyssey XG in a conventional 32-bit slot, only the 32-bit
portion of the edge connector is connected in the slot. The other portion will
remain out.
6. Anchor the board using the screw that you removed in step 4.
7. If you are not installing multiple Matrox Odyssey XG boards, skip to step 9.
8. Repeat steps 2 through 5 for each additional Matrox Odyssey XG board. If you
plan on interconnecting your Matrox Odyssey XG with a Matrox Odyssey Xpro
board, take note to install the XG in a slot adjacent to the Xpro. For more
information on interconnecting Matrox Odyssey boards, refer to your Matrox
Odyssey Xpro documentation.
