viii. Restore your original display settings.
In multi-display mode, each monitor has its own monitor settings (refresh
O
rates). See DualHead Multi-Display setup in Chapter 3.
- Use the following steps under Windows NT 4.0:
i. If your primary display is unusable, restart your computer in VGA mode.
See Basic procedures: Restarting in safe mode earlier in this chapter.
ii. Right-click the Windows desktop background, select Properties, and then
click Settings. Windows might prompt you that the display settings are
incorrect for the current mode; click OK to continue.
iii. Move the Desktop area slider down to its lowest setting, and then click OK.
iv. Restart your computer normally.
v. Select a monitor with the Matrox PowerDesk Monitor property sheet, and
then adjust your display settings. For more information, see the Matrox
PowerDesk online documentation.
• Files on your system might have been deleted or corrupted.
Before removing software, make sure you have all the necessary files to reinstall
software that might still be needed. Also, make sure the display driver you reinstall
supports all Matrox products in your computer.
- Remove, and then restore Matrox software. To do so:
i. If your primary display is unusable, restart your computer in safe mode or
VGA mode. See Basic procedures: Restarting in safe mode earlier in this
chapter.
ii. To remove Matrox software, follow the instructions below for your
operating system. Note that you might need administrator rights to remove
certain software under Windows 2000/XP. For more information, see
Windows documentation.
Windows 98/Me: Click Start, Settings, Control Panel. Double-click
U
Add/Remove Programs. Select Matrox Graphics Software (remove only)
and click Add/Remove, and select Yes.
