Troubleshooting

If you have problems using your Matrox Meteor-II /Display for CompactPCI,
please try the following:
• Check for disconnected power cords or incorrect monitor connections.
• Read the suggestions in this chapter.
If your problem is not addressed in this chapter or if the solutions suggested do
not work for you, contact your local Matrox Imaging representative, Matrox
Imaging sales office, or the Matrox Imaging Customer Support Group.

Basic procedures: Restarting in safe mode

This section gives instructions on how to restart your computer in safe mode, or
VGA mode, depending on your operating system.
Follow the steps below when your primary display is usable:
1. Restart your computer.
2. Windows 98/Me/2000/XP. Before Windows starts, press the F8 key for the
Windows startup menu to appear. If the F8 key does not work, instead try pressing
and holding the Ctrl key before Windows starts.
3. Select Safe mode if you are running Windows 98/Me, or VGA mode if you are
running Windows 2000/XP or NT 4.0, and then press Enter.
Follow the steps below when your primary display is unusable:
1. Under Windows 98/Me, press Ctrl + Alt + Del twice to restart your computer.
Under Windows 2000/XP and NT 4.0, press Ctrl + Alt + Del and then make
the appropriate on-screen selections to restart.
2. Proceed with steps 2 and 3 of the previous set of steps.
