Export the configuration file or log
files from the switch
You can export the current configuration settings to create a back up configuration file,
such as before performing a reset, when you want to reuse the settings to configure a
second switch of the same model, or anytime you want to create a configuration baseline
or fallback point. You can also export various types of log files from the switch, including
the trap log, buffered (in-memory log), error log, and files designed specifically for use
when requesting assistance from NETGEAR customer support. The configuration and
log files export in ASCII format and can be sent to a file server over a TFTP session, or
to a computer or USB storage device over an HTTP session.
Export a file from the switch to a TFTP server
You can export (upload) the configuration or log files from the switch to a TFTP server
on the network.
To export a file from the switch to a TFTP server:
1. Connect your computer to the same network as the switch.
You can use a WiFi or wired connection to connect your computer to the network,
or connect directly to a switch that is off-network using an Ethernet cable.
2. Launch a web browser and enter the IP address of the switch in the address field of
your web browser.
