9b. Cleaning and Disinfecting
Use only a soft cloth to clean the surface of the device and LCD with 70%
isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol. Do not use unapproved cleaning or disinfection
agents. Use of these agents may cause damage to components.
Caution: Ensure that no liquid enters the interior of the thermometer.
Never use abrasive cleaning agents, thinners, benzene or submerge the
thermometer in water/or other cleaning agents. Wait 10 minutes after cleaning,
allowing thermometer to air-dry before taking next measurement.
Caution: Always keep the thermometer within storage temperature
range and humidity range.
Caution: Never use water to wash the thermometer lens directly.
Slightly moisten a cotton swab or cloth with isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol and
gently wipe the surface of the lens.
Caution: Never insert a sharp object into the scanner area or any other
open surface on the thermometer.
Caution: Avoid touching the lens except when cleaning is required.
Note: ADC is not responsible for validating alternative cleaning or disinfection processes
outside of our facility. You should determine the requirements for personnel, equipment,
and materials necessary to achieve your desired disinfection levels and may need to
employ routine monitoring of your disinfection protocols within your facility. After clean-
ing or disinfecting, wait at least 10 minutes prior to taking another measurement.
9c. Storage
Always keep the thermometer within the storage temperature and humidity
range as specified. It is recommended to store the thermometer in a dry loca-
tion free from dust. Always keep the thermometer within the storage tem-
perature range (-20 C to 55° C or -4° F to 131° F) and humidity range
(≤93% non-condensing). At least 30 min required of equipment to warm from
the minimum storage temperature between uses until it is ready for intended
use.
At least 30 min required for the equipment to cool from maximum storage
temperature between uses until it is ready for intended use.
It is recommended to store the thermometer in a dry location free from dust.
Do not expose the thermometer to direct sunlight, high temperature/humidity
or any extreme environment, otherwise the function will be reduced.
When the ambient temperature of the thermometer changes too much, such
as moving the thermometer from one place of lower temperature to another
place of higher temperature, allow the thermometer to remain in a room for
30 minutes where the temperature is between 15° C to 40° C.
