  • Page 3 To avoid an inaccurate measurement: • Use ONLY ADC® probe covers, as this unit is calibrated to work with probe covers. • Straighten the ear canal by gently pulling the middle of the ear back and up. This en- sures measurement of heat from the eardrum.

    Caution: If you are not confident with readings obtained, confirm temperature with a standard digital thermometer. 8. Changing from Fahrenheit to Celsius and vice-versa The ADC® Digital 424 Thermometer can display temperature measure- Ready Mode ments in either Fahrenheit or Celsius. To switch the display between °F and °C, turn the unit off.

Replacing the Battery The ADC® Digital 424 Ear Thermometer is supplied with one lithium battery, type CR2032. Replace with a new CR2032 battery when the low battery symbol appears on the display.
