Loading Media

Loading media in Tray 1, 2, or 3 or the Custom
Paper Tray
You can load many sizes of media in trays 1, 2, and 3 and the Custom
Paper Tray. (Tray 3 is part of the optional 2,500-Sheet Feeder. The
optional Custom Paper Tray replaces Tray 1, Tray 2, or Tray 3.) Refer
to page 12 for the sizes that you can load in each tray.

Pull out the tray until it stops. (Tray 1 is shown.)
Note
If you must remove a paper tray (such as to replace it with the
Custom Paper Tray), place the tray on a flat, solid surface. If
you place the tray on a rug, the springs and wires on the
underside of the tray may catch and break, which disables
the tray-size sensing.

Prepare a stack of paper, making sure that the tops of the sheets
are aligned.
