Stock Names:
Allows the customer to set duplicate stock name rules.
·
Enforce Unique Names – Selecting this option allows
the customer to create unique names for each stock.
Duplicate stock names are not permitted when this is
enabled.
·
Allow Duplicate Names – Selecting this option allows
the customer to create multiple stocks using the same
name. This is useful when the paper type the customer
is using is differentiated by size only. When enabled the
following two options become available on the GUI:
ü Auto Generate Name Extension – Selecting this
option automatically appends an exclamation
character followed by a number to each duplicate
stock name entry in the database. (I.e.,
Hammermill!1, Hammermill!2).
ü Manually Generate Name Extension – Selecting
this option requires the customer to create a name
extension for a duplicate stock entry.
Ø Stock Comments icon:
This is a new attribute for all printers. Stock Comments are
displayed as "tool tips" when the mouse pointer hovers over
the comment icon ( ). A comment icon appears only if
comment text has been entered for a given stock. The
comments are entered in the Stock Properties or New Stock
dialogs.
In prior releases of DocuSP, the customer was forced to define a
tray containing "Unspecified" stock. The typical customer would
send files into the system without a "Stock Name" because
PostScript and PCL do not have a concept of "Stock Name".
Instead, it uses the stock attributes Size, Type and Color. The
"Unspecified" stock name had to be defined.
In the DocuSP 3.6 release, the Stock Name does not need
definition.
