Guidance fixtures for lower anchorages
Special guidance fixtures increase the conven-
ience of the lower anchorages and are availa-
ble from your aut horized Audi dealer .

The lower anchorage attachment
points are
located on the rear seats between the seat·
back and the seat cushion . Special guidance
f ixtures increase the conven ience of the lower
anchorages and help protect the seat mater ial
from possib le damage when inst al ling child
restra ints .
Inst alling th e guidance fixture s
.. Push down on the seat cush ion so that the
lower anchorages are visib le.
.,. Hold the guidance fixture with t he part
number facing downward a nd push it in the
direc t ion of t he arrow onto the anchorage
~ fig. 128 .
.. Make sure that each of the two guidance fix-
tures per seat snaps into place .
Removing the guidance fixtures
.,. Remove the child res tr aint a ccord ing the
child restra int manufacturer's
instruct ions.
.,. Push down on the seat cushion so that the
lower anchorages are visible.
.. Pull off the gu idance fixtures from the low-
er anchorages.
.,. Always remove the guidance fixtures and
keep them in a safe place when not in use .
You may find it easier to install chi ld re-
stra ints equipped with hooks attached to
straps without the guidance fixtures in place .
If this is the case, remove the guidance fix-
tures by pulling t hem off the anchorages .
However, the gu idance fixtures can help you
to locate the
LATCH
anchorages.

WARNING
Imp roper use of te t her anchorages or low-
e r anchorages can cause ser ious personal
injury in a crash.
- Always carefu lly follow the child re-
straint manufacturer's
instructions for
proper installation and use of child re-
straint systems.
- Never use the
LATCH
or tether anchorag-
es to attac h safety belts or other kinds of
occupant restra ints.
- Child restraint tether attac hments and
lower attachments
are only designed to
secure a ch ild restra int that has been
equ ipped to use these a nchorages.
- Tether anchorages and lower anchorages
are des igned to withstand only those
loads imposed by correctly fitted child
restraints . Under no circums tances can
they be used safely fo r adult or child
safety bel ts or harnesses .
- Never mo unt mo re than one child re-
straint to a s ingle tether or to a lower an-
chorage point. Attaching two child re-
st raints to a s ingle a ncho rage po int can
cause t he a ncho rage to fail and ca use se-
rious pe rsonal injury in a crash .

Note
- Remove t he g uidance fixtures before
folding t he rear seatback to preve nt
damaging the seat cushion.
