Seat s and s t o rage
• Always attach items to t he roof rack secure-
ly befo re you drive off.
The max imum perm iss ible roof we ight is
1 6 5 lb (7 5 kg) . The roof weight is made up of
the weight of the roof rack system and the
weight of the object being transported .
When using a roof rack system which has a
lowe r load carrying capac ity, you must not use
up the total maximum permissib le load carry-
ing capacity specified above. Instead, you
should load the roof rack system only to the
maximum capacity spec ified by the manufac-
turer of the roof rack system.

WARNING
Weak, damaged or improper straps used
to secure items to the roof rack can fa il
during hard bra king or in a collision and
cause serious personal injury.
- Make sure the roof rac k is instal led exact-
ly as specified above ~
page 65.
- Always use suitab le mounting straps for
sec uring items to the roof ra ck to help
preve nt items from shift ing or flying for-
wa rd.
- Items on the roof rack must a lways be
se curely mo unted.
- The use of a roof rack can negat ive ly af-
fec t the way a vehicle handles. Cargo
tha t is la rge, heavy, bul ky, long or flat
w ill have a g reater negative influence on
the vehicle's aerodynamics, center of
gravity and overall handling. Always
dr ive slowly, avoid sudden braking and
maneuvers when transporting
cargo on
the roof of your vehicle.
- Never exceed the maximum perm iss ible
load carry ing capacity of the roof of your
vehicle, the perm issib le axle weights and
the permiss ible total weight of your veh i-
cle~

ing and maneuvers when transporting
cargo o n the roof of you r vehicle.

For the sake of the environment
Sometimes it may be easier to leave a roof
rack installed even though you are not us-
ing it. Due to the increased air resistance
your vehicle will unnecessarily use more
fuel. Remove the roof rack if you a re not
go ing to use it.

WARNING

Spi lled hot liqu id can cause an accident
and personal injury.
- Never carry any beverage conta iners with
hot liquids, such as hot coffee or hot tea,
in the vehicle while it is moving. In case
of an acc ident, sudden braking or other
veh icle movement, hot liquid cou ld spill,
causing scalding burns. Spilled hot liquid
can also cause an acc ident and personal
lnJUry.
- Use on ly soft cups in the cupholder . Hard
cups and glasses can cause injury in a n
accide nt.
- Never use t he cupholder or adapter as an
ash t ray - risk of fire.

Note
Only drink conta iners with lids should be
carried in the cupholder. Liquid coul d spill
out and damage you r vehicles e lectronic
equipmen t or st ain t he upho lstery, etc.
