Safety instructions for operation with a power supply according
to NEC Class 2
Operate the device with a power supply according to NEC Class 2. When connecting up the
device, keep to the safety notices listed below.
For devices that must be operated with a NEC Class 2 power supply, you can also connect a fuse
in front of the power supply that meets the following requirements. The power supply must then
meet the requirements for operation with Limited Energy/LPS, see "AUTOHOTSPOT".
Power supply
The device is designed for operation with a directly connectable safety extra low voltage (SELV)
from a limited power source (LPS).
The power supply therefore needs to meet at least one of the following conditions:
• Only safety extra low voltage (SELV) with limited power source (LPS) complying with IEC
• The power supply unit for the device must meet NEC Class 2 according to the National
If the equipment is connected to a redundant power supply (two separate power supplies),
both must meet these requirements.
Safety extra low voltage
The device is designed for operation with a directly connectable safety extra-low voltage (SELV)
according to UL/IEC 61010-1 and UL/IEC 61010-2-201 whose output power corresponds to
"Limited Energy" according to UL/IEC 61010-1.
