Driving in stop-and-go traffic
App lies to vehicles: with Audi adaptive cruise control
The adaptive cruise control system assists you
in stop-and-go traffic .
If
an object that is de-
tected ahead stops, you r vehicle will brake
and stay at a stop , with in the limits of the sys-
tem .
Starting with adaptive cruise control 1l
If you veh icle brakes to a stop because an ob-
ject is detected ahead,

Your veh icle is in automatic start mode .
As long as the dr iver message

is displayed and the object detected ahead
starts t o move, your vehicle will continue driv-
ing

Criteria for switching off
The adaptive cruise control sw itches off for
safety reasons when stationary :
- when the dr iver's door is open,
- when the veh icle is stationary for more than
3 m inutes,
- when the dr iver's safety be lt is not fastened .

if there is an obstacle between your vehicle
and the object ahead . This increases the
risk of an accident .

vehicle does not start driving even though

you can sta rt by tapping the accelerator
pedal.
- If an obstacle is detected when your ve-
hicle starts driving, the system will

Your vehicle will drive more slowly when
starting. This may also happen in some

Interrupting
cruise control

Requirement: The adaptive cruise contro l is
switched on.
Overriding cruise control
Overriding means exceeding the selected
speed when adaptive cruise control is active ,
for example whe n press ing the accelerator
pedal when passing.
• To accele rate manually, pull the lever to-
ward you into position @ and ho ld it there .
The message
ACC: override
appears. Or
• press t he acce lerator pedal.
