Installing a child restraint with LATCH
lower anchorages
Whenever you install a child restraint always
follow the child restrain t manufacturer's in-
structions .

Mounting
.. Make sure the seatback of the rear seat
bench is in the upr ight position and se curely
latched in place.
.. Att ach both hook -on con nectors with t he
spring catch release on t he child safety seat
onto the LATCH lower anchorage so that the
connectors lock into place ¢

.. Pull on the connector attachments
to ma ke
sure they are properly attached to the LATCH
lower anchorage .
.. Pull straps tight fo llow ing the child restraint
manufacturer's
instruct ions .
Releasing
.. Loosen the tension on the straps following
the child restra int manufacturer's
instruc-
tions.
.. Depress the spri ng catches to release the
anchorage hooks from the lowe r anchorag-
es .
Remember: Use tether straps to help keep the
child restra int firm ly in place .

chi ld safety seats using t he "LATCH" sys-
tem.
- Never attach othe r child safety seats,

- Always make sur e that you hear a click
when latch ing the seat in place. If you do
not hear a click t he se at is not se cure a nd
could fly forwa rd and hit the int er ior of
the vehicle, or be ejected from the veh i-
cle.
