Changing the basic settings
The SSID (Service Set Identifier) is the workgroup name of your
Wireless Network. The wireless network card in your computer
must be configured to have the same SSID in order to
communicate with the SOHO 6 Wireless.
To change the SSID of the SOHO 6 Wireless:
• Type a new identification number in the SSID field.
The default SSID is the 5-digit identification code from the serial number
of the SOHO 6 Wireless. The first four digits of the serial number are the
product code and are not used in the SSID. The next five digits of the
serial number are the identification code. The remaining characters of the
serial number are not used. The maximum length of the SSID is 20
characters.
To change the channel:
• Select a value from the Channel drop-down list.
Configuring the access point options
You can configure how the SOHO 6 Wireless communicates with
your wireless computer.
To restrict access to the SOHO 6 Wireless by the computer
hardware address:

Select Enabled from the Restrict Access by Hardware Address
drop-down list.

Click Edit.
The Allowed Hardware Addresses page appears.

Type the MAC Address of the computer that should be
allowed to connect to the SOHO 6 Wireless in the applicable
field.

Click Submit.
If you do not want to restrict access to the SOHO 6 Wireless by the
computer hardware address:
