- Do not raise the vehicle until yo u are
sure the jack is securely engaged.
- Passenge rs must not remai n in the

hicle when it is j acked up.
- Make sure that passengers wait in a
safe place away from the vehicle and
well away from the road and traffic.
- Make sure jack position is correct, ad-
just as necessary and then contin ue to
ra ise the jack.

Note
Do not lift the vehicle by the si ll. Position
the vehicle jack only at the designated lift-
ing points on the sill. Otherwise, your vehi-
cle will be damaged.
Taking the wheel off / installing the spare
tire
Follow these instructions step-by-step for
changing the wheel.

After you have loosened a ll wheel bolts and
raised the veh icle off the ground, remove and
replace the wheel as follows:

Removing the wheel
.,. Remove the topmost whee l bolt completely
with the
hexagonal socket
in the screwdriv -
er handle (vehicle tool kit)

and
set it aside on a
clean
surface .
.,. Screw the threaded end of the
alignment
pin from the tool kit hand-t ight into the
empty bolt hole

remove
the other wheel bolts as de -
scribed above .
.,. Take off the whee l leav ing the a lignment
pin in the bolt hole

Putting on the inflat able spare tire
.,. Push the spare tire
over
the alignment pin.
.,. Screw on the wheel bo lts and tighten them
slightly
us ing the hexagonal socket .
• Remove the a lignment pin and inse rt and
tighten the rema ining wheel bolt slightly
like the res t.
.,. Turn the jack hand le counter -clockwise to
lower the veh icle until the jack is fully re-
leased .
.,. Use the wheel bolt wrench to tighten all
wheel bo lts firm ly o

Tighten
them
in a crisscross pattern,
from one bolt
to the (approximately) opposite one, to keep
the wheel centered .

The hexagonal socket makes it easie r to re-
move
t he wheel bo lts from the rim. Care
sho uld be t aken when remov ing the reversib le
blade .

Note
When removi ng or insta lling t he whee l,
the rim cou ld hit the bra ke roto r and dam-
age the roto r. Work carefu lly and have a
second person to help you .
