STEAM TRAP (KO)
The thermic steam trap is located in the drain pipe under
the cooking compartment. It functions automatically
according to the temperature of the condensate and the
steam. It opens when liquid condensate flows to the trap
and closes when hot steam attempts to pass through the
trap. The condensate then flows into the drain pipe where
it is mixed and cooled with cold water to prevent clouds of
steam from entering the drain.
The steam trap is identical in design to the deaeration
valve (EG). Concerning leakage and cleaning see
"Deaeration valve (EG)".
Removal and installation
Disassembly is easiest if the entire drain battery is
unscrewed from the appliance. During installation, ensure
that the thread is cleaned on the inflow side and sealed
with Loctite 577.

F = spring; conical part downwards
SAFETY VALVE (SV)
The safety valve has the important task of protecting the
compartment against excess pressure and destruction by
blowing off at a pressure of 1.30 ± 10% bar. The valve is located
externally at the back of the appliance and is freely accessible.
Servicing
If a safety valve on an appliance that is being used starts to leak,
the reason is generally to be found in deposits of dirt on the
seating and the sealing ring. Cleaning the valve on site will
restore the valve to full serviceability providing that the seating
seal is undamaged. The valve cannot be disassembled.
Cleaning and function test with manual release
Run the appliance empty at its maximum pressure setting until
pressure has built up in the compartment. Remove the upper
plastic
protective
cap.
counterclockwise until steam issues from the valve. Repeat this
procedure several times.
Testing
i.e. note at which pressure the valve blows off.
- Disconnect the appliance from the power supply.
- Remove the cover in accordance with §5.
- Remove strand no. 34 from the power board (LP).
- Switch on the appliance and start operation at 1 bar.
- Check the release pressure of the safety valve with a testing
pressure gauge (nominal value 1,30 bar).
- Switch off the appliance, disconnect the mains supply, reattach
strand no. 34 to the power board, close cover of the appliance.
Removal
The valve can be accessed by removing the adjacent screwed
joints.
Installation
During installation, ensure that the thread on the pressure side is
clean and sealed with Teflon tape (not with Loctite).
