DRAIN VALVE (AV) (Y1)
The solenoid valve is operated electrically by the control system and carries no current when open. The drain valve is
only closed when cooking under pressure, i.e. closed. The valve is located in the drain pipe under the cooking
compartment.
Leakage
Steam will escape continuously from the water drain during pressure cooking when the drain valve is dirty.
Cleaning
Cleaning or descaling is done from the cooking compartment by pouring cleaning or descaling agent into the drain. If this
fails to bring about any improvement, the entire valve should be replaced.
Removal and installation
This is not easy and is done by releasing the screwed connections. During installation, ensure that the thread on the
inflow side is clean and sealed with Loctite 577.
AERATION VALVE (BE)
The aeration valve is located on a screw fitting underneath the safety valve
(SV) and serves to prevent a vacuum in the cooking compartment. A vacuum
in the cooking compartment will stop the door of the appliance from being
opened.
If the valve leaks and steam is released while the appliance is in operation,
the cause is usually dirt on the coned valve seat. This fault can be remedied
by removal and cleaning. The valve must on no account be activated during
operation (by pushing the protruding pin upwards) as hot steam will be
released and this can cause injury.
Removal
The aeration valve is screwed straight onto the pipe connection provided.
The valve core is free in its housing and can be removed.
Installation
Install the valve and ensure that the protruding pin points straight down. The
screw thread must be sealed with Loctite 577.
PRESSURE GAUGE (MG)
The pressure gauge on the front panel indicates the pressure in the cooking compartment.
Removal
Remove the cover in accordance with §5. Take off the pressure pipe union nut at the back of the pressure gauge. Bend
the pipe away. Undo the nut on the clip. Pull the clip away backwards. Pull the pressure gauge forwards out of the
operating panel.
Installation
The thread on the pressure gauge must be cleaned and sealed with Loctite 577.
Testing
The pressure gauge must be tested periodically with a calibrated pressure gauge (PM).
- Disconnect the appliance from the power supply.
- Remove the cover in accordance with §5.
- Remove the screw cap (UM) and the plug (SM).
- Attach the plastic hose (KS) with the clips (RB) to the copper tube (RC) ∅ 8 mm and the test gauge (PM).
- Insert the pipe (RC) instead of the
plug (SM) and tighten the nut (UM).
- Switch on the empty appliance and
start operation at 1 bar pressure.
- Compare the pressure indicated by
the testing pressure gauge to that
indicated by the pressure gauge on
the panel.
- If the deviation on the panel pressure
gauge is the same or greater than
0.1 bar, the gauge must be replaced.
- Switch off the appliance, disconnect
the power supply, reconnect the
pipes as they were connected before
and install the cover.
