is activated if the switch in the front cover is in position "On".
Furthermore, the external fault signal device, if fitted, is
activated.
If the red LED illuminates together with the two green LEDs
the pumps are operating, but the liquid level in the tank is
above the alarm level. The alarm is automatically reset when
the liquid level has been lowered below the alarm level.
If the red LED illuminates without an illumination of the
yellow LED "Failure" and none or only one green LED
illuminates, please contact our Sales and Service
Department.
Yellow LED "Direction of rotation" (only 3-ph models)
The yellow LED in the front cover of three-phase controllers
indicates wether the phase sequence of the mains
connection is correct. If the LED is illuminated, the phase
sequence is wrong.
Note : This function does not prevent the motor from starting
and rotating in the wrong direction because it does not
measure the phase sequence to the motor.
Therefore, the direction of rotation of three-phase pumps
must always be checked if the cable between pump and
controller has been removed (see 5.3.).
5.2.3. SEKAMATIK 100 E S single station with electronic
control device PCS1.1 (alternating current) and PCS1.2
(three-phase current)
The PCS1 control device part of the scope of supply of the
plant controls and monitors the operation of
the lifting installation and reports occurring errors.
The plant is supplied compete with a plug. The plant is ready
for use after inserting the plug into the socket
(grounding--type plug 230V50H or 5--pole CEE socket
400V50Hz). All the parameters needed for proper
operation are preset. The operational--readiness of the plant
is indicated by the lighting--up of the green
operating LED.
With 3--phase plants the controls possess an additional red
light indicator on the upper side. This signals
an incorrect phasing sequence of the connected current
grid. In this case, pull the plug out and change 2
phases in the plug by means of the mechanism provided.
After inserting the plug again the light indicator
for direction of rotation should be off. The plant is ready for
operation and works with correct direction of
rotation of the pump.
Control functions:
The controls work with a pneumatic level acquisition. In this,
the rising water level in the tank the level is
measured by means of a pitot tube in the tank and
transferred via a pressure hose to the measuring sensor
in the controls. In order to ensure continuous and proper
function, it is essential that the pressure hose
from the pitot tube to the controls has a constant rise and is
laid without loops.
If the controls are under power, then the controls signal a
readiness for use in automatic operation by
means of the lighting--up of the green LED.
If the works pre--set level is reached then the pump is
activated by the controls. During the operating of the
pump the green LED blinks slowly.
The controls are programmed for a run--on time of 5
seconds in order that the collection tank is completely
emptied with each pumping cycle and in order to prevent
deposits in the tank. This run--on time begins
after reaching the switch--off point and is signalled by a
quick blinking of the green LED. After the expiry of
the run--on time the pump switches off again.
The controls possesses a red LED in order to report
malfunctions. This LED reports the following
malfunctions:
Red LED blinks -- high water alarm
The works--side programmed alarm level has been
exceeded. For instance, this can be triggered by a
strong intake to the plant. In this case the alarm is reset
independently when the intake lessens and the
pump lowers the water level below the alarm level. If this
condition continues for a longer period (>5
minutes), please contact the customer service. In this case a
further intake of water to the tank
should be prevented.
Red LED lights continuously -- maximum running time
exceeded.
The lifting plant is designed such that the pump at normal
operating conditions (lifting height and intake
quantity correspond to the plant characteristics) can empty
the collecting tank on reaching the switch--on
point in about 30 seconds. A continuous intake to the plant
can thus lead to this running time being
exceeded. As the pump is not designed for continuous
operation, the controls will signal an uninterrupted
running--time of 125 seconds by means of a continuous
lighting of the red LED. Then the controls stop the
pump for 2 seconds and restart it again. This function is
meant to remove a malfunction caused, for
instance, due to poor venting of the plant or fouling at the
impeller. If this condition continues for a longer
period (>5 minutes), please contact the customer service. In
this case a further intake of water to
the tank should be prevented.
The above errors are additionally signalled by means of an
acoustic alarm integrated in the controls. The
different signals have the following meanings:
1beep per second = Maximum running time exceeded
3 beeps per second = High water alarm
In addition, the controls posses a test button situated on the
upper side. This allows the pump to be tested
independently of the level in the collection tank. Also with the
use of this button an emergency operation
of the pump can be activated in the case of a failure or
defect of the level sensor.
5.3. Check of Direction of Rotation
1 Ph-pumps do not require any check, as
they always run with the correct direction of
rotation.
Put the pump vertical on the ground and lift
one edge. Start the motor. Viewed from
above, the unit must jerk anti-clockwise, as
the correct direction of rotation is clockwise.
If the direction of rotation is wrong,
interchange two of the phases of the electric
power supply. Using a control box with CEE-
plug, this may be done by a 180° turning of
the small round pole-socket at the plug-end
with a screwdriver.
