Performing the fit test

WARNING
Danger of poisoning
► Use only with a tightly-fitting facepiece.
1. Press both breathing hoses of the closed-circuit breathing apparatus tightly
together and inhale until negative pressure is generated in the full face
mask.
2. Briefly stop the air.
Negative pressure should be maintained. If not, retighten the harness or
adjust the position of the mask guide on the helmet.
3. Repeat the test twice.

During use

● Use the wiper handle to operate the wiper whenever the visor fogs up.
4.6.1
Drinking during operation
WARNING
► To avoid contaminating the inside of the drinking system, always connect
and disconnect the drinking tube outside the danger zone.
When used in mining, the drinking reservoir can remain connected to the
drinking valve at all times.
1. Pull the drinking valve from the cap, then remove the protective cap from the
drinking valve.
2. Push the coupling of the drinking tube onto the drinking valve.
3. To drink, swivel the drinking valve back a little until the mouthpiece can be
held comfortably in the mouth.
4. To drink, bite gently on the mouthpiece and suck in the drinking fluid.
5. After drinking, swivel the drinking valve fully out of the cap again until the
mouthpiece no longer interferes.

Follow the corresponding instructions for use.

6. After use, disconnect the drinking tube coupling from the drinking valve.
7. Plug the protective cap onto the drinking valve before putting it back into the
cap.

WARNING
Danger of poisoning!
► Leave the danger zone immediately when noticing any signs of damage,
e.g. bubbles in the visor.

The coating may dissolve in some places on visors marked PCas and APECas.
The facepiece remains usable until the end of the mission. Replace the visor
after use.
4.6.3
Some substances can be absorbed by the material of the mask body or may
even diffuse through it. Further information can be obtained from Dräger.
4.6.4
WARNING
When operating in explosion-hazard areas, treat the Dräger FPS 7000 RP with
antistatic spray or use a water screen.
Otherwise, there is a risk of explosion caused by electrostatic discharge.
