▶ Secure one carabiner of the tool tether to the retaining strap and secure the second carabiner to a
load-bearing structure. Check that both carabiners hold securely.
Comply with the operating instructions of the Hilti retaining strap and those of the Hilti tool tether.

Fitting the accessory tool
1. Check that the connection end of the accessory tool is clean. Clean the connection end if necessary.
2. Open the keyless chuck (1).
3. Insert the accessory tool into the keyless chuck (2)and then turn the chuck firmly by hand until tight
(3)and several clicks are heard.
4. Check that the accessory tool is held securely.

Removing the accessory tool
1. Open the keyless chuck.
▶ If the chuck refuses to open, use the enclosed hook wrench for more leverage.
2. Pull the accessory tool out of the keyless chuck.

Installing auxiliary handle
1. Loosen the auxiliary handle holder (clamping band) by turning the handle grip (1). Slide the holder
(clamping band) over the keyless chuck from the front and into the recess provided (2).
2. Set the auxiliary handle to the desired position (3).
3. Tighten the auxiliary handle holder (clamping band) by turning the handle grip (4).

Adjusting auxiliary handle
1. Loosen the auxiliary handle holder (clamping band) by turning the handle grip (1).
2. Move the auxiliary handle to the desired position (2).
3. Tighten the auxiliary handle holder (clamping band) by turning the handle grip (3).

Selecting the gear
The gear selector switch can be operated only when the motor is not running.
1. Set the top gear selector switch to the position for forward rotation and use the bottom gear selector
switch to select either speed 1 or speed 2.
2. Set the top gear selector switch to the position for reverse rotation and use the bottom gear selector
switch to select either speed 3 or speed 4.

Setting forward or reverse rotation
An interlock prevents switching while the motor is running.
The control switch is locked when the forward/reverse switch is in the middle position (switch-on
interlock).
▶ Set the forward/reverse switch to the desired direction of rotation.
