Its important to note that regardless of a rear conductor entry or from the bottom the following steps be followed. Pre-
bend conductors so they align with the appropriate terminals on the unit. This should be done prior to installing any high
press lugs. Once this is complete cut wires to appropriate length. Strip conductors and install heat shrink tube , then
compression lug. Make sure the lug is crimped as such to line up with the terminal on the unit. Lugs should be crimped
with the proper crimping tool as noted earlier. Check to ensure you are dialed in on crimper to the appropriate size
conductor used. Check connection point on lug after crimping. Its important to note that THHN copper wire or greater
than 90C conductor be used.
Once you are satisfied that the conductors are properly prep and insulated proceed to the next steps.
Place terminal to the appropriate terminal block. Use flat washer, then lock washer and manually tread screw into the
threads making sure they are properly aligned. Never use a cordless drill to install screws.
Carefully tighten down screw until the lock washer has fully compress. Follow the same procedure for all three
connection points. Once satisfied with this process moving right to left torque all nuts to the following specs.

Confirm lugs are seated properly with a slight tug then repeat the torque sequence one last time.
De-Rating Charger
If it is necessary to derate the charger, follow the steps below:
•
Call the 1-800-34-fleet number on the front of the charger
o When the operator answer let them know that you on site and need to have a technician derate the
charger. They will contact tech support and help you with your request
•
Make sure you have the unit powered up and connect to the internet or provided sim card. You will also need
the serial number of the unit so its best to have that on hand as well
•
This process may take 15 -30 minutes so plan accordingly
•
Once charger has been derated plug unit to vehicle to ensure operation
•
Stand by for at least 15 minutes to make sure everything is in good working order
