Mounting the S1 Chassis

Front Mounting the S1 Chassis in a Rack

You can front mount an S1 chassis in an equipment rack using the mounting brackets attached to
the S1 chassis.
To front mount the S1 chassis:
1. Slide the S1 chassis into the equipment rack until the front mounting brackets are flush against
the front screw holes of the rack posts. See
2. Secure the front of the S1 chassis to the rack by screwing the customer-supplied rack screws in
the mounting brackets on the right and left front of the S1 chassis. Use at least four screws in
each mounting bracket.

Note: The S1 chassis does not ship with mounting screws. You must supply at least eight screws to
install the S1 chassis in a rack (four screws in each mounting bracket).

Installing the S1 Chassis in an Equipment Rack

Note: For rack installations requiring more robust support for high shock or vibration, install the S1
chassis using the optional rail kit, S1-MOUNT-KIT.
To mid-mount an S1 chassis, you must use the S1-MOUNT-KIT rail kit, which is available for
purchase separately.
