Timer recording
Set the POWER switch of the VTR to ON.
Check that the safety tab on the cassette is present, and insert the cassette into
the cassette compartment.
Set the times at which you want to start and stop recording. |
For details, refer to the operation manual supplied with the timer.

Set the TIMER switch to REC.
The timer automatically tums on the VTR power at the preset time. The VTR
Starts recording.
To stop timer recording
Press the STOP button of the VTR.
© To ensure that all of the desired sequence is recorded, set the start time one
minute earlier than the time at which you actually want to start recording.
© Once the TIMER switch has been set to REC, all buttons and switches, except for
the STOP button, are disabled. Also, immediately after the power is tured on,
the STOP button is temporarily disabled.
® After timer recording has been completed, set the TIMER switch to OFF.
* At tape end, the VTR automatically enters the operating mode set with the menu.
For details, refer to "Menu items and their functions" on page A-3(E).
© At the recording stop time, the timer turns off the VTR power with the tape
wound around the head drum. At the next recording start time, the timer
automatically turns on the power of the VTR. At this time, the tape stops
momentarily, then timer recording starts.

| Sensor Recording
By setting from the menu, the VTR can automatically records signals whenever a
video signal is input through the VIDEO IN or S VIDEO IN connectors. You can
thus automatically record signals, for example, from satellite system.

Set the POWER switch of the VTR to ON.
Check that the safety tab on the cassette is present, then insert the cassette into
the cassette compartment.
Select the video signal to be recorded with the VIDEO INPUT SELECT
switch on the sub panel.
S-VIDEO: records the Y and C signal input throuth the S VIDEO IN
connector.
LINE: records the video signal input through the VIDEO IN connector.
Select the audio recording signal and adjust the signal level with AUDIO
LEVEL controls.
For details, refer to " Selecting the Audio Recording System" on page 4-3(E).
Set the CTL/MENU switch to MENU.
The menu items appear on the time counter block.
Press the ITEM button repeatedly until "SEn-**" appears.
Press the DATA button repeatedly until "SEn-On" appears.
Set the CTL/MENU switch to CTL.
