Audio Recording
Hi-Fi Recording
In conventional recording, audio signals are recorded on the
audio track and video signals on the video track.
In hi-fi recording, audio signals are recorded in the same
manner as video signals, using two rotary hi-fi audio heads.
Thus, high-quality sound recording is possible.
Before you begin
¢ Your audio system must be correctly connected to the
VCR. (See "Connections" on page 4.)
¢ Set INPUT SELECT to LINE 1 or LINE 2 according to
which your audio system is connected.
¢ Set the tape speed to SP or LP.
¢ Adjust the recording level with the REC LEVEL LR controls.
Play a recording source and manually adjust the recording
level while observing the sound level indicators.
'When recording from a cassette deck:
Adjust so that the [J and [J sound level indicators
sometimes reach their peaks. -
When recording from a CD player or PCM digital audio
processor:
Adjust so that the [J and [if sound level indicators reach
their peaks only at the highest signal level.
Note
The elements which light up may differ slightly between the [ij and
[J sound level indicators.
1 Insert a cassette.
2 Press @ REC on the VCR or the two @ REC buttons on
the Remote Commander simultaneously.
Audio recording starts.

OPERATIONS
Hi-fi recording pattern on tape
The VCR automatically performs hi-fi recording and normal
audio recording at the same time, so that these tapes also
can be played back on a VCR without a hi-fi system.
