Using the Electronic Image Stabilizer wanes
The electronic image stabilizer (EIS) corrects slight shaking of the image being recorded and is effective
in the following situations,
* While you zoom to a distant subject.
* While you approach a small subject.
* While you walk around.
* While you record from inside a moving vehicle.
Press the EIS button. The ElSicon ~) appears
"in the upper left corner of the viewfinder or
LCD monitor.
> Press the Start/Stop button to start recording.
When EIS is engaged the viewfinder or LCD
monitor image shakes with a slight delay.
Note:
EIS may not function if you use a wide or
tele converter lens.
Note:
It is recommended
that you do not use

detect
vibrations
from
the
tripod
in
which case the picture would be blurred.

vicinity of the zoom range with "ZOOM" dis-

in the
viewfinder

LCD
monitor, when moved from the wide-angle
end, the image size will change,
but this is
normal.

When the EIS function is engaged, the pic-
ture becomes rough.

When the EIS function is engaged, the angle
of view at the wide-angle end becomes
narrower.

Using Quick Edit =
Use quick edit to search for the end of previously
REW/REVIEW Button
recorded material, find a particular spot on your
tape, begin editing, or record new material. While
the camera is in record/pause mode hold down
F.FWD Button ——>* ee
the FFWD, REW/REVIEW,
or PLAY button and

visually search the tape. Release the button and
the camcorder stops the tape at the exact position
you selected.
Note:
If the F.FWD or REW/REVIEW
button is
pressed for quick edit, noise will appear in the
viewfiner, on the LCD monitor, or on the con-
nected TV,
Attaching the Optional Wide or Tele Converter Lens <
Screw the lens into the threads on the camcorder
lens assembly.
Note:
If ihe tele-conversion
lens (optional) is
attached over the lens, the four corners of the
image will be missing in the wide-angle pos-
ition. Use zoom in the telephoto position.
