Using the PROGRAM
AE Dial (only for VM-H955LA) messa
This camcorder can easily set the shutter speed and aperture to sult the subject condition, recording
situation or purpose, as well as adjusting all of these according to the subject brightness (conventional
program AE).
Turn the PROGRAM AE dial to select the recording mode according to the subject to be recorded and
the recording conditions.
During playback, turn the dial to adjust the finer details of playback pictures.
Recording by Selecting Recording Mode :

Turn the PROGRAM
AE dial during recording
pause to set the dial to the desired recording mode
by aligning it with the "+" mark.
Note:
The dial will not work when the CAM/
OFF/VIDEO switch of the camcorder is set to
"VIDEO",
Note: When the dial is set to @ or 8, record-
ing will be done inthe @ (full auto) mode.
Q: Full Auto Mode
In this mode, the camcorder automatically adjusts
the shutter speed and aperture
according to the subject bright-
ness. Therefore, use this mode
for standard recording.
The shutter speed will appear
in the viewfinder or on the
LCD monitor.
<S: Sports Mode
Select this mode when record-
ing rapidly moving subjects,
such as golf or tennis swings,
etc.: The subject will be clearly
recorded, without blurring.
"SPORTS" will appear in the
viewfinder or on the LCD monitor.
PT: Portrait Mode
Select this mode when record-
ing a subject portrait standing
out from a blurred background.
"PORTRAIT"
will appear in |
the viewfinder or on the LCD
monitor.

sL: Spotlight Mode
Select this mode when the con-
trast ratio of subject is high and
the highlighted section area is
relatively small.
"SPOTLIGHT"
will appear in
the viewfinder or on the LCD
monitor.
ac: Backlight compensation mode
Select this mode when record- |
ing the subject against a light
source brighter than the sub-
ject.
"BLC"
will
appear
in
the
viewfinder
or
on
the
LCD
monitor.
îi: Gain-up mode
Select this mode when record-
ing a poorly lit subject, such as
in a dim room, etc.: The entire
image
will
be
recorded
brighter.
"GAIN UP" will appear in the `
viewfinder or on the LCD monitor.
