Using the Active Light (only for VM-H855LA/

Use the active light if you wish to shoot objects in dark places.
When the LIGHT switch is set fo "AUTO", the active light turns on automatically when the camcorder is
pointed at objects in a dark place and turns off when it is pointed at objects in a bright place.
CAUTION:
Since the power consumption of the active light is high, the camcorder operating time will
decrease even with a fully charged battery.
Note:
if there is no cassette in the camcorder,
or if a recording prevented cassette Is inserted
with the active light switch set to AUTO, the light
will automatically go out after 5 minutes.
CAUTION:
Turn the active light on only when
you need if, otherwise the operating time of the
battery pack is shortened
due to the power
consumption of the active light.

CAM/OFF/VIDEO Switch
3 After use, set the LIGHT switch to OFF or set the
CAM/OFF/ VIDEO switch of the camcorder to
OFF position.
CAUTIONS:

During operation
and/or
after use of the
active light, the front surface and lamp of
the light will be very hot. To avoid burns or
hair damage, do not touch them with your
hand.
Make sure that a fully charged battery pack is
attached.
Set the CAM/OFF/ VIDEO switch to CAM and
then set the LIGHT
switch to AUTO
when
required.
Note:
When the LIGHT switch is set to ON, the
active light will turn on whenever you make a
recording.

If the LIGHT switch
is set to AUTO,
the
active light may not turn on immediately.
Note:
if tne active light turns on for more than 5
minutes with the light switch set fo "AUTO" or
"ON", when
the camcorder is in the record
pause
mode,
the camcorder
and
light will
automatically turn off. In such a case, turn the
camcorder on again.
Note:
If the LIGHT switch is set to AUTO and the
camcorder
is pointed at a white subject with
high reflectivity in a dark place from a short dis-
tance, the active light may turn on or off, In this
case, set the LIGHT switch to ON.

The active light will not turn on when the
CAM/OFF/VIDEO switch is set to VIDEO.
Demonstration Mode :
This camcorder is equipped with a demonstration mode.
If you leave the powered camcorder for 10
minutes without a cassette inserted when the date has not been set or the clock battery is dead, the
camcorder demonsiration mode will start.
To cancel the demonstration mode
« Disconnect power from camcorder and reconnect it.
« Insert a cassette.
If you do not want the camcorder to enter the demonstration mode, set the date beforehand.
