Using Still
To view a still picture during playback press the
Start/Stop. Press the Start/Stop button again to
resume playback. If you leave the camcorder in
play/pause mode for more than 5 minutes the
camcorder automatically stops the cassette to pre-
vent damage to the tape. You can view a still pic-
ture with less noise on the LCD monitor (Clear
Still).
Note: The stili picture
will have several noise
bars in the viewfinder
and on the TV, but this
does not indicate a
fault,
Using Forward and Reverse Search
Note: if you are freezing a picture with the
LCD monitor closed, then you will not be able
to view a still picture with less noise when you
open the moniter.
Start/Stop Button
When looking for a particular point in your videotape use the F.FWD button and REW/REVIEW button
to find the spot quickly.
When the LCD monitor is closed:
* Press the FFWD button during playback to
play the tape forward at approximately 9 times
normal speed. Press the PLAY button to return
to normal playback.
* Press and hold the F.FWD button during fast
forward to visually scan the tape at 19 times the
normal playback speed. Releasing F.PWD
returns the camcorder to fast forward.
* Press the REW/REVIEW button during play-
back to play the tape backwards at approxi-
mately 7 times normal speed. Press the PLAY
button to return to normal playback.
* Press and hold the REW/REVIEW button dur-
ing fast rewind to visually scan the tape back-
wards at 17 times the normal playback speed.
Releasing REW/REVIEW returns the cam-
__cordertofastrewind. 7
Note: When you engage is FWD buton or
REW/REVIEW button the picture will have some
interference or noise in the viewfinder. This is
normal during search mode,

When the LCD monitor is open (Clear
Search):
You can view pictures with less noise on the LCD
monitor during forward or reverse search.
* Press the F.FWD button during playback to
play the tape forward at 6 times normal play
speed. Press the PLAY button to resume nor-
mal playback.
* Press and hold the F.FWD button during fast
forward to visually scan the tape at 17 times the
normal playback speed. Releasing F.FWD
returns the camcorder to fast forward.
* Press the REW/REVIEW button during play-
back to play the tape in reverse at 4 times nor-
mal speed. Press the PLAY button to resume
normal playback.
* Press and hold the REW/REVIEW button dur-
wards at 15 times the normal playback speed.
Releasing REW/REVIEW returns the cam-
corder to fast rewind.
Note: If you are using forward or reverse search
with the LCD monitor closed, then you will not
be able to view pictures with less noise when
you open the monitor.
Note: Several noise bars will appear on the TV
screen during forward or reverse search.
Note: A noiseless picture will not appear during
high-speed search even if the LCD monitor is
open,
Note: Noise may flow during high-speed
search in low temperature conditions.
