7 Processing steps in accordance with ISO 17664-1 / ISO 17664-2 | 7.4 Care products and systems - Servicing
The validations were performed in a Miele washer disinfector using the
"VARIO-TD" program and a mild alkaline cleaner made by Dr. Weigert.
In addition, KaVo recommends the use of a rinsing agent.
4 For program settings as well as cleansers and disinfectants, please refer to
the Instructions for Use of the washer disinfector.
4 For the spray tube, also use the adapter for external spray channels.
The washer disinfector should at least provide the following program steps:
Automated cleaning procedure
4 Step 1: Pre-cleaning with cold tap water for 1 min
4 Step 2: Cleaning 0.5% cleaner 55 °C for 5 min with de-ionized water
4 Step 3: Rinsing with de-ionized water for 1 min
Automated disinfection procedure
For tests on the disinfection the following parameters will be applied:
4 Step 1: Pre-cleaning with cold tap water for 1 min
4 Step 2: Cleaning 0.5% cleaner 55 °C for 5 min with de-ionized water
4 Step 3: Rinsing with de-ionized water for 1 min
4 Step 4: Thermal disinfection with de-ionized water at 93 °C for 5 min
The drying procedure is usually part of the cleaning program of the washer dis-
infector. In order to prevent impairment of the KaVo medical device, make sure
that the inside and outside of the device is dry after the end of the cycle.

7.4 Care products and systems - Servicing

Sharp bur in the medical device.
Injury hazard from sharp and/or pointed bur.
4 Remove the bur.
Improper service and care.
Risk of injury.
4 Perform regular proper care and servicing.

Remove the bur for servicing.

KaVo guarantees the proper function of KaVo products only if the care prod-
ucts listed by KaVo as accessories are used, since these were tested for
proper use on our products.

7.4.1 Servicing with KaVo Spray

KaVo recommends servicing the product as part of the processing after each
use, i.e. after each cleaning, disinfection, and before each sterilization.
4 Remove the bur from the medical device.
4 Cover the medical device with the KaVo Cleanpac bag, and place it on the
corresponding care adapter.
4 Press the spray key once for 1-2 seconds.
