1. Intended Use
The Heidelberg upright stander Standard is designed for physiological
stabilisation of the user. The upright stander Standard is available in
different sizes. These instructions for use describe:
• Type 101 (size 3) - for adults with a max. weight of 100 kg
• Type 102 (size 2) - for children/young people with a max. weight of 100 kg
• Type 108 (size 2) - for small children with a max. weight of 40 kg
In order to ensure safe and successful operation of Rehatec® GmbH
devices, all notes, precautions and information in these instructions for
use must be observed. This product is intended exclusively for use by
competent persons who have been trained by the operator. Areas of
application include: home, physiotherapy, rehabilitation, therapeutic
gymnastics and medical therapy.
Rehatec® GmbH gives no guarantee regarding the suitability of this product
for a specific therapeutic and diagnostic purpose. The user/operator must
determine the sensible use.
This medical device is designed for operation inside closed rooms at an
ambient temperature between 15° C and 35° C. Operation in wet areas
is not permitted. The device must also be kept away from heat sources
and strong sunlight - risk of burns! Failure to observe this can lead to
considerable damage and endanger both the patient and the user.
Risiks
Depending on the diagnosis and therapy, it must be clarified with a
doctor or therapist how long a patient can stay in the upright stander. The
following symptoms can occur: Circulatory problems, pain in the leg
and/or back area, increased spasticity, seizures. Many patients can only
stand in a bent position at first and can only be fully extended later. Never
correct the posture by force or strong pressure.
The user must be instructed in the proper use of the device. The
individual abilities and limitations of the respective patient must
always be taken into account.
Never leave users unattended!
1.1 S CO P E O F A P P L I C AT I O N/ I N T E N D E D P U R P O S E
The Heidelberg upright stander Standard can be used for the
following indications: muscular dystrophy, infantile cerebral palsy,
myelodysplasia, diplegia, tetraparesis, spina bifida, paraplegia,
multiple sclerosis, paraplegia; various diagnoses with paralysis or
reduced strength of the trunk muscles, so that standing upright without
comprehensive support is difficult or leads to poor posture, deformity and
pain.
