You can adjust and fix the exposure to the
subject, so that it is recorded in suitable
brightness even when there is strong contrast
between the subject and the background
(such as subjects in the limelight on stage).
I Touch _ during recording or in
the standby mode.
Touch [SPOT METER].
If the item is not displayed on the screen,
touch _/_. If you cannot find it. touch
[MENU], and select it from the _!_
(CAMERA SET) menu.
3 Touch the point you want to adjust and
fix the exposure on the screen.
[SPOT METER] flashes while the camera
is adjusted the exposure lot the selected
point.
4 Touch [END].
To return the settingto automatic
exposure
Follow steps 1 and 2. then select [AUTO] in
step 3. Or set [EXPOSURE] to [AUTO] (p. 38).
O Notes
• You cannot use the Flexible spot meter together
with:
Color Slow Shutter function
NightShot plus function
• If you set [PROGRAM AE], [SPOT METER[ is
automatically set to [AUTO[.

• If you set
[SPOT
METER], [EXPOSURE] is
automatically set to [MANUAL].
You can fix the brightness of a picture at the
best exposure. When recording indoors on a
clear day, for instance, you can avoid
backlight shadows on people next to the
window by manually fixing the exposure to
that of the wall side of the room.
