Aboutthe "Memory
Stick"
The "Memory Stick" is a new light and small
recording media which, despite its size, can
store more data than a floppy disk.
You can nse following types of"Memory
Stick" on your camcorder. However,
appearance on the list does not guarantee the
operation of all types of "Memory Stick" on
your calncorder.

JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group)
format. The file extension is ".JPG.'
• Movie l\)rmat: Your carncorder compresses
and records picture data in the MPEG
(Moving Picture Experts Group) R)rlnat. The
file extension is ".MPG."
• File names of still images:
- I01-1)001: This file name appears on the
screen of your camcorder.
DSC00001.JPG: This file name appears on
the display of a computer.
• File names of movies:
- MOV000()I: This file name appears on the
screen of your camcorder.
MOV00001 .MPG: This file name appears
on the display of a computer.

• On a "Memory Stick" forrnatted on a
computer: A "Memory Stick" formatted by
the Windows OS or using Macintosh
computers does m)t have guaranteed
compatibility with your camcorder.
• Data read/write speed may vary depending on
the combination of the "Memory Stick" and
"Memory Stick" compliant product you use.
To preventaccidental erasureof images
Slide the write-protect tab oil the
"Menlory
Stick" to the write-protect position.
The position and shape of the write-protect tab
may be difli_rent depending on the model.

Notes on use
Image data may be damaged in the l\_llowing
cases. Compensation for damaged image data
will not be made.

power off on your camcorder, or remove the
