GAS PRESSURE REGULATION

The burner is equipped with two servomotors that independently
regulate the main and secondary train gas (B1, B2).
For a preliminary regulation of the modulation curve, it is recommended
to set the secondary gas butterfly (B2) more open than the main gas
butterfly (B1).
Once the maximum load is reached, adjust the flow rate using the
two pressure regulators (A1, A2) while keeping the two gas butterflies
open.
Take the power-pressure curves for each model as reference,
measuring the pressure of the main gas in (C1) and that of the
secondary gas in (C2) and then check the combustion values with the
appropriate instrument.
If it is necessary to lower the NOx values, act by closing the secondary
gas butterfly valve (B2) , taking care not to decrease it by
more than 20% compared to the value indicated in the
head loss curves.
Adjust all the intermediate points of the modulation curve (from 999
to 200) without acting on the pressure regulators but only through the
servomotors.
• Check combustion (CO, O2, NOx) using the appropriate instrument
at all intermediate points on the modulation route (from 200 to 999),
checking the gas flow rate by reading the meter.
• Check, with a suitable instrument, that the percentage of carbon
monoxide (CO) present in the fumes does not exceed the limit set
by regulations in force at the time of installation.
• Now check the proper automatic operation of modulation. This
ensures that the equipment receives the signal from the electronic
modulation regulator, if the burner is the modulating model, or from
the second stage thermostat or pressure switch, if it is a two stage
progressive burner.
PRESSURE ADJUSTMENT EXAMPLE:
pump TBG 100 SLX ME
maximum power to be adjusted 1200 kW
Pressure in the combustion chamber-|s|_PCC 4 mbar
referring to the tables Power - Main gas pressure and Power -
Secondary gas power relating to burner TBG 100 SLX ME, the
following head pressures are obtained:
P (mbar) main gas 52 mbar
P (mbar) secondary gas 6,6 mbar
Add the back pressure in chamber PCC to these values:
Main gas regulation 50+6= 56 mbar to be detected in C1 pressure tap.
Secondary gas regulation 6,6+4= 10,6 mbar to be detected in C2
pressure tap.
