Removing/Installing
Backing Pad
The backing pad can become damaged
or worn through general use, but it can be
easily removed and replaced. Only replace
backing pad with 7" diameter, hook & loop
pad.
To remove/install backing pad:
1. DISCONNECT
TOOL!
2. Press spindle lock button while
turning
backing
(see Figure 18). Backing pad will spin
free of spindle.

3. Press spindle lock button, place back-
ing pad on spindle, and turn pad coun-
terclockwise.
IMPORTANT: Do not overtighten
backing pad, or damage to backing
pad or spindle can result.
Make sure backing pad is secured
properly. Loose attachment will
cause tool to run out of balance and
create excessive vibration, which
may cause loss of control.
