21.3 About Lighting Scenes
In simple terms, a scene is an arrangement of lighting that suits a particular purpose. For example, a dining room may
need practical lighting when holding a meeting there, atmospheric lighting when dining or entertaining, other lighting for
presentation purposes and, of course, occasionally no lighting at all. Each of these lighting arrangements is stored as a
scene. (There is usually also a scene in which all the lights are off). When you press a Scene Button on TouchPanel, you are
selecting one of these scenes.
Technically speaking, scenes are actually collections of light levels for a collection of loads. The example below shows four
scenes, each one comprising four loads. (Note that each scene could comprise many more loads). In this case, each scene
has been assigned to a Scene Button on a typical Screen.
The loads in each scene have been set to specific levels.
Notice that the loads do not have to be set to the same
level as other loads. You can change any scene so that each
load provides exactly the light level that you need, or assign
a different scene to each Scene Button. To the right you
can see that Scene 1 has been changed so that each load
provides a different level of light.
