Mode of operation

First adjust the gripping range (of the SLS 8/20-G-VA setter) by turning the hand crank (1).
The device (SLS 8/20-G-VA) is placed on the horizontal gripping material (bar) (see Fig. ).
To grip the workpiece (bar) in the center, the adjustable stop (5) must be positioned once.
After the clamping jaws have been applied to the gripped material (bar), a pretensioning force is
applied by turning the crank handle (1) (approx. 1-2 turns) until the round sleeve (A) rests
against the square tube (B) (see Fig. ).
Attach the sling (belt/slip, chain or crane hook) to the suspension eye (2).
Now, using a hoist/carrier device, the gripping material (stele) can be vertically erected and
positioned with the device (SLS 8/20-G-VA) (see Fig.  and ).
As soon as the gripped object (stele) is hanging in a vertical position on the carrier, check
whether the [center of gravity compensation] ("X" see Fig. ) is approximately in the middle of
the gripped object.
This ensures that the load is suspended almost vertically.
If this is not the case, the position of the suspension eye (2) in the guide of the center of
gravity compensation ("X" see Fig. ) must be changed accordingly.
ATTENTION: For this purpose, the device must be placed completely on the ground with the
gripped material (stele) already gripped. Otherwise there is a risk of accident!
After positioning and setting down the gripping material (bar), the pretensioning force must be
released again by turning the crank handle (1).
If an already stationary gripping material (stele) is only moved (i.e. it is not to be set up
vertically), it is not necessary to apply the pretensioning force. The holding force is generated in
the vertical state via the round clamping jaw (6).
