7.2 Troubleshooting table

The table below will help you to locate and solve small problems.
Problem
Water is leaking out of the
bottom of the appliance.
Water is leaking out over
the edges of the portafi lter.
The appliance does not
work.
Milk does not froth.
The "
" and "
" buttons
are fl ashing quickly.
The "
" and "
" buttons
are fl ashing quickly.
The "
" button is fl ashing
quickly.
All the symbols on the but-
tons fl ash simultaneously 5
times.
Possible cause
The drip tray is full.
The water tank is not
inserted into the appliance
correctly.
The appliance is defective.
The portafi lter has not been
attached correctly.
There are some coff ee
grounds on the edge of the
portafi lter.
The plug has not been
inserted into the power
socket correctly.
The steam wand is blocked.
The milk is not cold enough.
The turning knob was not
turned off after using the
hot water/ steam wand.
The appliance's brewing
temperature is too high.
The turning knob is still
turned on 180 seconds after
using the hot water/ steam
wand.
The appliance must be
descaled.
Possible solution
Empty the drip tray.
Insert the water tank into
the appliance correctly.
Remove the plug from the
socket. Do not continue to
use the appliance. Contact
our Customer Service.
Attach the portafi lter cor-
rectly.
Remove the leftover coff ee
grounds from the edges of
the portafi lter.
Insert the plug into the
power socket correctly. Con-
tact our Customer Service if
the appliance still does not
start after this.
Clean the steam wand.
Use cold milk from the
fridge.
Turn the knob upwards to
the "Off " position.
Turn the control knob on
and dispense some water
into a container.
Turn the knob upwards to
the "Off " position.
Descale the appliance.
