AC power to protect the customer's load from all nine power failures. The Eaton 9390/9390IT UPS is available as a single module or a multiple module parallel system (see paragraph 1.3).
It consists of a self-contained battery compartment permanently attached to the main unit (see Figure 1‐2.) The 9390IT internal battery model is available in a 2 string (80 batteries) and 3 string (120 batteries) configuration. The UPS is shipped with factory‐installed batteries and requires battery tray interconnection by an Eaton Customer Service Engineer prior to site use.
Line-up-and-match battery cabinets are wired through the side panels of the units. Optional X-Slot connectivity cards are quickly installed at the front of the unit and are hot-pluggable. ® Eaton 9390 UPS (20–80 kVA) and 9390IT (20-40 kVA) Installation and Operation Manual 164201603 Rev 4 www.eaton.com/powerquality...

Decreasing the load generally increases the battery support time. Multiple Module Parallel System Parallel operation extends the normal operation of Eaton 9390 UPS units by offering increased capacity and/or redundant capability. The parallel system continues to maintain power to the critical loads during commercial electrical power brownout, blackout, overvoltage, undervoltage, and out‐of‐tolerance frequency conditions.
7.2.1 Multiple Module Parallel System Modes Similar to the single module system, the Eaton 9390 UPS parallel system supports a critical load in three different modes of operation. The standard operation modes are: In Normal mode, the paralleled UPMs supply the critical load with clean, filtered power.
Bypass mode. The parallel system automatically returns to Normal mode when the overload condition is cleared and system operation is restored within specified limits. 7-10 ® Eaton 9390 UPS (20–80 kVA) and 9390IT (20-40 kVA) Installation and Operation Manual 164201603 Rev 4 www.eaton.com/powerquality...
