MAINTENANCE
Damage and wear of components may be caused by the type of fuel
used.
The components most subjected to wear are the O-rings.
Pin replacement can be done only by the manufacturer as it is adapted
to the lance during assembly.
In case of pin damage, it is necessary to replace the whole lance
(excluding disk and spray nozzle that can be ordered separately).
IMPORTANT
During maintenance operations pay attention not to damage the
sealing surfaces of disk, spray nozzle and adapter.
Before assembling the components again, check that they are in per-
fect conditions and clean.
To replace O-rings, proceed as follows:
REPLACE 12.42X1.78 O-RING (1).
Remove the coil (5) and the parts making up the solenoid (10);
Loosen the 4 screws and remove the control block (6);
Remove the bush (8) together with the O-ring (2);
Replace the O-ring (1);
Position the bush (8) back in place with the O-ring (2);
Fit the block (6) in the piston housing aligning the 3 holes of the
O-ring (4) with those on the rear part of the lance connecting
block.
REPLACING 6.02X2.62 O-RING (3).
Remove the coil (5) and the parts making up the solenoid (10);
Loosen the 4 screws and remove the control block (6);
Remove the bush (8) together with the O-ring (2);
Replace the O-ring (3);
Push the pin head back using a small piece of wood or plastic.
CAUTION / WARNINGS
Pay attention since the pin handling rod moves back immediately
due to the spring; extract the rod gently without damaging the
pin.
Remove the activating rod;
Remove the fastener that connects the pin to the handling rod
and take the pin;
The spray lance is equipped with a series of supports, each one
fixed with a fastener, resting on three point inside the duct. They
are used to fasten the coaxial rod to the pipe and to facilitate its
installation.
Remove fasteners and supports;
Fix the pin side end to a clamp;
Remove the fastener that holds the retainer in its seat, the spring
and the three disks at the ends from the pin opposite side.
File any sharp edge of the disks and replace the O-ring (3);
Near the O-rings it is important that the rod is free from imper-
fections;
Assemble the components again in reverse order with respect to
what described;
To replace the pin, simply remove the fastener;
Fix the new pin in position with the same fastener;
To check whether all components have been fitted correctly, insert
the handling rod inside the lance without positioning the O-rings
(1) and (2) on the disk (11);
The rod should move freely;
Pull it back and fit the O-ring (2) on the disk (11);
Press on the rod to put it back in place;
Make the bearing slide on the piston (7) in the connecting block
and rotate it to check that it is in the correct position;
If the position is correct, fit the O-ring (1) on the piston and press
on the bush (8) with the O-ring (2) to fit them back in place;
Fit the control block (6), making sure that the 3 holes are aligned
with the three holes on the rear side of the lance connecting
block;
Fit the orifice and the disk as previously described.
