8 LRF Interface Kit

Vectronix supports integrating LRF 3013 by supplying an LRF Interface Kit. The intention of the LRF
Interface Kit is to facilitate wiring and powering LRF 3013 before starting. The LRF Interface Box, a
standard terminal software and the LRF User Manual is enough to get a first impression of the LRF
Module. The Laser Range Finder Module can be powered via the Universal Interface Box either by using
a single 9V battery block or preferably external power.
The Universal Interface Kit consists of

Suitcase

Vectronix USB stick (incl. manual and terminal software)

Universal Interface Box and (below) Quick Start Guide

Battery 9V

USB Interface cable

External battery / power supply cable

Flex cable to connect the LRF Module to the Universal Interface Box

Use only high power Alkaline or better batteries of type 6LR61.
The external power supply should be able to provide the power requirements listed in the data
sheets.
For testing the data readout any terminal program can be used. We recommend PTronix SimpleTerm SE.

Figure 17 shows how to connect the LRF module to the Universal Interface Box with the flex cable. Keep
in mind that both the LRF module system connector and the Universal Interface Box connector, are of
bottom contact type. Please note, that the connector end color may differ to yellow as shown.
